The Best Skate Shops in Alaska!

Skate culture thrives in local board shops. The independent shops that are owned by riders and serve the skate community as meeting places, event sponsors, and of course, the places to get gear, are among the best. Here are some of our favorite skate shops in Alaska.

Boarderline Legacy, Juneau, AK

Boarderline Legacy is a skate and snow shop that is owned and operated by riders. A reincarnation of the Boarderline shop—which was run by the current owners father for a quarter century until it closed in 2006—Legacy is determined to introduce a new generation of riders to the importance and camaraderie that a core shop brings to a community.

Another youngster is locked and loaded and ready to shred! The homie Max came through the shop a little while back and said that he was about to start fishing with his grandpa as a deck hand to make some summer cash and was wondering if I would be able to set him up with his first complete when he had the extra funds. Of course I said hell yeah and he was serious. So after stacking some cheese for the last few weeks he rolled in and we did just that. That whole story is literally why we love to sell skateboards. It's an awesome feeling to stoke a kid out and send them on their way knowing that they are about to begin an awesome chapter of fun in their life. I remember getting my first complete like it was yesterday and we at Boarderline strive to make the experience one to remember and always let them know where you can come to keep the fun times and memories rolling in. Whether it be to get a new deck, tune up your ride or just hand out for a bit, Thats why we're here. Plus we have all the dopest skate stuff as you can tell from Max's new complete. Have fun out there Max and keep shredding! @taters_spamm #skatelife #skateboardingisfun #skateboarding #skateshop #skatealaska #skatejuneau #minishred #gooutside #skateak #boarderlinelegacy #boarderlineak #skateanddestroy
